Elan Valley Lodge has been run as an adult outdoor activity centre since 1988, offering 1st class team development programmes to the corporate and commercial sector whilst also providing 5* en-suite group accommodation and activity packages to walking, running and cycle groups.
Situated in the magnificent Elan Village it truly is a hidden gem on the edge of the Cambrian mountains.
There has always been much speculation as to whether canoeing and kayaking is allowed on the Elan Valley reservoir; unbeknown to most, the Lodge does have exclusive access to the reservoir for this purpose and is now offering a unique opportunity for locals and tourists alike to experience the breathtaking views of the beautiful Elan scenery whilst canoeing or kayaking on the reservoir*.
*This unique opportunity will include brief history of the dams in 2 person canoe or kayak.

These Outdoor Adventure days are being run in accordance with DCWW (Dwr Cymru Welsh Water) and are being offered at a promotional rate in order to encourage locals and tourists to learn more about the fantastic heritage of the Elan Estate whilst also doing something different and exclusive.

You don’t need any experience or to be super fit, we will brief you, provide all the specialist equipment and make sure you have a great day safely.
You must be over 10 years old and over 1.4m tall but less than 20 stone with a waist of less than 43”.
Meet at the Visitor Centre 9.30am back by 12.30, you will need transport to the Lodge (2 miles) stout shoes and appropriate clothing for the weather. This is a family and friends event so no unaccompanied under 18’s please.

Canoe or Kayak on the reservoir:
A unique opportunity to try this stunning sport and gain a different view of the Valley, from a 2 person canoe or kayak.
After a short introduction and safety talk we head for the water to learn how to paddle your boat before heading off around the reservoir in the company of your instructor. Hear about the history of the dams during your well deserved rest breaks.
Suitable for beginners and those with some experience. Minimum age 8 years, maximum weight 18 stone or 115kg.
Meet at the Visitor Centre 1.30 pm back by 4.30, you will need transport to the Lodge (2 miles) light shoes, appropriate clothing for the weather, a complete clothing change and a towel. This is a family and friends event so no unaccompanied children please.
