This is a unique opportunity to take to the water on Caban Coch Reservoir in a 2 person sit on kayak.
After a short period of instruction and practice you will be amazed at how how easy it is to paddle these boats. We will then head off for a journey around the reservoir stopping regularly for a rest and to hear about some of the fascinating history of the valley and its dams.
Suitable for 8 to 80 year olds! Under 18s must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
Meet at the Elan Visitor Centre at start time, session will end back at the visitor centre 3 hrs later. Some participants may be required to take their own cars to the site (5 minutes drive).
We are not planning on falling in but a change of clothes, spare footwear and a towel are advised.
Due to the physically demanding nature of the activities run by Elan Valley Lodge all participants must be reasonably fit and healthy. Any health concerns must be discussed with the Instructor prior to arrival.
Kayaking Session Dates 2018
Half day sessions 2-5pm
Please note: As a result of the wonderful summer we are having, water levels in the Dam are lower than usual. This results in a slightly longer carry to get the kayaks to the water (and back again) and rather more mud than would be ideal. Please bring suitable footwear that you don't mind getting wet and muddy!
